Berwick's Burrell Collection Digital Learning Resource for Schools

Berwick's Burrell Collection Digital Learning Resource for Schools includes learning activities inspired by paintings and artefacts from the Collection. Each learning activity includes a PowerPoint slideshow, teachers notes and where needed, pupil activity sheets. The resource enables cross curricular learning opportunities including literacy (activities developing creative writing and poetry skills), creative thinking, art and design, PSHE, cultural identity, numeracy, history and ICT and is free for all teachers to download.

Berwick's Burrell Collection - new mobile App

Berwick's Burrell Collection mobile App is now available to download from the App Store, it contains 13 snippets from oral history recordings from local people who remember Sir William at the time when he lived at Hutton Castle. The App also contains 20 pieces from the Collection with background information on each piece.

Create, Aspire, Transform: North Northumberland Schools Cultural Education Leadership Programme

As a result of securing project funding from Paul Hamlyn Foundation, BVA are working closely with four North Northumberland schools on a visual arts learning and engagement programme running until the end of 2019. The project aims to support teachers and pupils to work with visual arts in new ways and for some, to engage with visual artists and galleries for the very first time.

Sense of Place is an exhibition of works created by pupils from Tweedmouth Middle School and St Cuthbert's First School as part of the Create, Aspire, Transform programme, the work was created during a week-long residency with artists Louise Bradley and Sally Madge.
